Design & Consultation: Approximately 1–4 Weeks
The process begins with a consultation. We meet to discuss your backyard and your lifestyle. We'll talk about how you want to use your pool: for family fun, lap swimming, quiet relaxation, or all of them.
We also discuss the design, shape, and features you desire. We’ll also talk about options such as tanning ledges, integrated spa areas, or water features.
While 3D rendering tools and design software speed up the process, we take the time to ensure your pool suits your home and your vision. This design phase typically takes one to four weeks, depending on the number of revisions and the speed of finalizing selections.
Permitting: 2–6 Weeks
Next comes the permitting phase. Your local municipality, county, or city will review your plans for safety, zoning, utilities, and compliance. In the Oklahoma market, this typically takes two to six weeks; however, in some instances, especially when extra engineering or planning-board hearings are involved, it may take a bit longer.
During this time, we gather documents, submit plans, and coordinate with your utility companies (so we don’t hit unexpected issues during excavation). Being proactive here keeps the rest of the process running smoothly.
Excavation: Around 1 Week
Once permitting is approved, the site is ready, and the weather cooperates, we move into excavation. For most residential pools, digging and prepping the site takes about a week. In some cases, it can take longer if there are access constraints, rock, utility lines, or other complications.
Structural Work: 1–2 Weeks
After excavation, we install the steel framework (for concrete/gunite construction), lay plumbing and conduit for electrical, configure lighting and water features, and set up the underlying systems that make the pool functional.
This phase typically lasts from one to two weeks, depending on the complexity, such as whether you’re adding a spa, custom lighting, jets, or other amenities.
Again, the weather can cause delays at this stage.
Shell & Finish: 1–3 Weeks
Now the pool really starts to take form. If you choose a concrete (gunite) pool, the crew sprays or builds the shell, cures it, and applies your chosen finish (plaster, pebble, etc.).
This can take one to three weeks, depending on the finish type and whether we need to wait for the material to properly cure.
Decking and Custom Features: 1–4 Weeks
Once your pool shell and systems are in place, we shift our attention to the pool deck, patio, coping, landscaping, lighting around the pool area, water features, and any custom touches you’ve requested.
This final phase typically lasts from one to four weeks, depending on the level of customization you’ve included, such as waterfalls, rock features, fire pits, pergolas, or expanded patio space.
Total Time Estimate: 8–12 Weeks on Average
When you add up all phases from design, permitting, excavation, structural work, finishing, and final touches, you can anticipate about eight to 12 weeks for a standard pool build. That means in roughly two to three months, you could be enjoying your new backyard retreat!
