Fall is starting to show its colors in Oklahoma. While it’s still warm, fall is teasing us with cooler weather. So, even though we are in the southern part of the United States, it’s still time to think about your fall pool.
Check out these fall maintenance tips for your Oklahoma pool.
If your pool is still open and you either want to swim or enjoy the visual ambiance, you want to make sure you’ve cleaned up your leaves.
Any time you have leaves in your pool or your skimmer, you need to remove them. If you let them sink to the bottom of your pool, you may stain it and encourage algae growth.
Another thing to attend to is your backyard. You want to clean up the leaves in your yard, so they don’t blow into the pool.
You can also trim your bushes and trees to help keep the leaves out of your pool.
For fall maintenance, make sure you clean your pool filter. If you need to, go ahead and replace your filters, too.
Even if you’re not actually swimming in the pool, you still want to make sure your chemicals are balanced.
If you’re closing your pool, you also want to make sure your pool water is balanced before you put your cover on. Bring us a water sample, and we’ll run it through our free Alex system.
If you’re closing your swimming pool, be sure and shock it before putting on your cover. This helps get rid of any bacteria. Shock also helps keep your pool water clean and healthy during the winter.
For those of you planning on using your swimming pool this fall, consider a pool heater.
This can make your pool much more enjoyable!
In addition, it’ll help to keep your water clear during the coming months.
Just like your summer pool, we can help you maintain your fall pool. Give us a call as we’d be glad to help!
